Gatherings are back through house of hopium. Here’s what’s been taking shape... - Author: Liana Fricker - Tags: News You Can Use, #news-you-can-use, #resource How have you been? We have a bit of catching up to do. I’ve recently turned my OOO off following 12 weeks of leave after major surgery in July. The good news? I’m back in the office and fighting fit. Hope all is well with you too. One of the highlights of the summer was my annual trip to Summercamp, hosted by Happy Startup School. After two talks and three workshops over the years, this was my first time volunteering on crew. Part of my 2026 focus on "villaging" and "hopium." ![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/5c/d9/5cd9a290-badb-4565-bbff-e748fca4fa73/content/images/2026/10/summercamp-grid-1200.png) Between lovely catch-ups and deep conversations, lots of people asked me: **“So, what’s happening with Inspiration Space?”** Fair question. The last 16 months have seen an intentional change in direction. The work has kept going. Between speaking, hosting and supporting founders and organisations, I’ve been doing rather more of it than talking about it. Two things have come from that. Both involve putting more into the URL and IRL village of villages. --- ## **First, sharing what we’ve learnt** Inspiration Space began in 2018 with that same instinct. Bring people together. Share what we know. Help each other build things worth the effort. Some of you were there at the beginning. Others joined through New Beginnings, a workshop, a conversation or a very long lunch. ![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/5c/d9/5cd9a290-badb-4565-bbff-e748fca4fa73/content/images/2026/10/inspiration-space-beginnings.jpg) After 10,000+ hours supporting founders, freelancers and self-starters, we know that however experienced you are, a pricing question, new idea or unfamiliar decision can send you looking for help. And at the beginning of September, I had a lightbulb moment, posed as a question: **“How might I share more of what we’ve learnt and created more easily - and freely?”** The answer? Inspiration Space as a free business Library and trusted Directory to help you choose tools and support before spending any money. ![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/5c/d9/5cd9a290-badb-4565-bbff-e748fca4fa73/content/images/2026/10/homepage-directory-1600x1000-1.png) You’ll find practical guides, explainers, videos and founder stories. We’ve changed the format, but the reason we’re here remains the same. I still steadfastly believe in our mission to democratise entrepreneurship for the progress of all. It builds on years of work many of you helped shape. There’s plenty to refresh your own thinking, and somewhere to point the friend building a consultancy, developing a portfolio career or wondering whether anyone will pay for their idea. Browse freely, or create a free account to unlock selected full guides and extras. There’s no paid tier. Know someone who’d find this useful? Please pass it on. [**Explore the free Library →**](https://theinspirationspace.co/resources/) --- ## **Second, creating more hopium** Many of you helped make Inspiration Space a place people wanted to be. I’d love to get us around a table again. Which is why gatherings are BACK through a new idea, **house of hopium.** A curated network and world of experiences built around pleasure, social chemistry and what makes life feel more alive. Because the world is weird and we still want to build beautiful things. ![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/5c/d9/5cd9a290-badb-4565-bbff-e748fca4fa73/content/images/2026/10/house-of-hopium-website-share.jpg) This has been bubbling away since April with a cast of co-conspirators, curators, experience designers, and venue hosts. Expect conversations that aren’t recorded and information you can’t Google. **Fancy joining us?** [**Come and see what we’ve been building →**](https://theinspirationspace.co/house-of-hopium/) --- The evolution may have been quiet, but now it’s time to open the doors and invite you in. Hope to see you soon. Go forth and be awesome, Liana xx
