Carrd

Carrd is a simple website builder for creating responsive one-page sites, landing pages and temporary web presences without writing code.

If you need a straightforward page for an offer, event, waiting list, personal profile or early-stage idea, Carrd may be useful to explore. It is designed around compact one-page websites, so you can publish something functional without committing to a larger website build before you know what the page needs to do.

What it can help with

Carrd may help you create a simple online home for one clear purpose: explain an offer, collect interest, share essential links or test how you describe an idea. Templates and a visual editor provide a starting structure, while responsive layouts adapt the page for different screen sizes.

Paid plans extend this with custom domains, forms, embeds, analytics connections and the removal of Carrd branding. This can make it useful as a lightweight landing-page tool rather than only a profile page.

Inspiration Space note: A one-page site can be enough when the work is still taking shape. Its useful constraint is that it forces a decision about the audience, the message and the next action. The page does not need to explain everything the business may eventually become; it needs to help the right person understand what is available now.

Who it may suit

It may suit freelancers, consultants, creators and founders who need a modest site quickly and are comfortable assembling it themselves. It can also suit a short campaign, event or test that does not justify a larger build. It may be less suitable for a content-heavy website, online shop, member area, complex booking journey or service requiring extensive integrations and permissions.

How it works

Choose a blank page or template, add and arrange elements in Carrd’s visual editor, then publish to a Carrd URL. The free Basic plan supports up to three sites. Paid options add features according to plan; publishing on your own domain and using forms require Pro Standard or above, while more advanced forms, widgets and embeds depend on the selected tier.

Custom domains must be registered separately. Carrd provides hosting and SSL for supported custom-domain sites, but it is not a domain registrar.

Cost and access

Carrd’s Basic plan is free. Prices checked on 7 September 2026 start at US$9 a year for Pro Lite, while Pro Standard is US$19 a year; higher tiers increase site allowances and features. A seven-day trial of selected Pro features is available without payment details. Check the live comparison because limits, taxes and prices may change.

What to check before committing

Start by deciding what the page must achieve. Check whether the plan supports your domain, forms, mailing-list service, payments, embeds, analytics and required number of sites. Add the separate cost of a domain and any connected services.

Review accessibility on mobile and desktop, including heading structure, contrast, image descriptions, keyboard use and form labels. Check privacy, cookies and consent if the page collects personal information or uses analytics. Make sure you can export or recreate important content if you later move to a larger website platform. A quick page can test a message, but it cannot validate demand or repair an unclear offer by itself.

Next action

Build one free draft around a single audience and next action, then check whether the features you need require a paid plan before connecting a domain.
